I’d take exception with Giacomo where he says we should tread carefully when looking at research using embryonic stem cells (as opposed to the adult stem cells used in this case). The Paragraph Farmer notes opposition to FOCA from people otherwise solidly in the Obama camp. To put it another way, you don’t have to be pro-life to see what a bad idea this bill would be.

A woman who owns abortion centers that target Hispanic women in California has been arrested. She has entered a plea of no contest to charges of pretending to be a physician, and doing abortions without a medical license.
